Healthy Hair is often a reflection of your General well-being.
To achieve and Maintain Beautiful Hair, it’s important to work on both External Hair care practices and your Nutrition and Health status.
How fast & How Healthy your hair grows is dependent on factors such as Age, Health and Nutrition Status, Genes, Environmental exposure, Presence/Absence of disease, long term use of medication ( symptoms & Side effects of treatment) and many other factors.
Taking care of your hair can be as simple as hair routine adjustments and addition of a hydrating nourishing product like chebe butter or as complex as managing Malnutrition, disease treatment and management or Hormonal imbalances.
Despite the reason for your hair loss or stagnation, here are some easy tips to help you retain more hair, stop with thinning and improve your general look ( mwanamke ni nywele remember?).
✅ Incorporate Balanced & Varied meals and foods into your daily routine. This will help ensure adequate consumption of essential nutrients that are necessary for healthy and lustrous hair.
This nutrients include Zinc, Biotin, Omega 3, Iron and more. Plan for consumption of different fruits and vegetables ( Consume a rainbow), Eggs and Poultry, Lean Meats, Fish ( Omena, Tilapia, Mbuta), Nuts ( Peanut’s, Walnuts, Almonds), Seeds like Flaxseeds, Chia seeds etc.
✅ Proper Hydration – Dry hair is more prone to breakage. Ensure adequate consumption of water and healthy fluids like Brothe, Wheatgrass, Hibiscus, Moringa etc for proper internal hydration.
It’s also worth noting that applying moisture ( Water) to your scalp and hair follicles and then having a rich sealant like Chebe butter would help with moisture retention and loss and thus help with preventing brittleness that causes breakages.
✅Stop with the Manipulation – We’d all love to have very frequent Salon visits, but scalp & Follicles manipulation ( Different tight hair styles that are so frequent are bad). Also over shampooing or washing your hair too often will rip natural oils off your hair predisposing you to Dryness which causes breakages.
✅ Collagen/ Biotin supplementation – I’d go with Collagen especially if loss is caused by age as the levels diminish significantly as we age and let’s not even talk about pollutions and Toxins that cause collagen degradation.
Loss of this essential structural protein has been associated with hair loss in both males and females. Reach out for supplement review and needs ☺️

✅ Treat infections or diseases such as Fungal infections that cause hairloss as a symptom. Fungal infections can cause patches of hairloss and this can be quite frustrating. Make sure to get a prescription for medication to treat such. Some conditions like Cancers or Diabetes can cause hairloss as well. Chemo/Radiotherapy is well known to cause hair loss.
✅ Stress Management; Chronic Stress levels have been associated with alot of hormonal imbalances and dysfunctions and one of the side effects is hair loss. Put up strategies to help with Stress Management like meditation, Breathing exercises, Yoga, Sharing and even something as simple as taking a walk has been associated with reduced stress levels. Let’s incorporate them into our routines.
✅ Regular Trims – to prevent split ends that cause growth retardation.
✅ Use of Natural hair products like Shea Butter, Coconut oil, Vitamin E oils, Chebe Powder, Clove, aloe Vera or even cloves have been shown to improve volume and promote length retention. Our Chebe butter is a perfect blend of natural oils and butter enriched with the original Chebe powder from Chad to help promote hair length and volume retention.
It’s safe to use on all types of African Hair and it’s available at Kshs. 1,200 for the 200gms and 2,000 for the 500gms.
