A woman’s vaginal health influences her confidence during sexual performance. I’m sure you relate to the discomfort that comes with those yeasts, candida (fungal infections) / bacterial infections, or even the outgrowth of the bad bacteria 🦠 that changes the pH down there and the odour.
Our Men are also complaining about the foul smell or dryness that makes it impossible for them to penetrate🙃.
As a registered dietitian passionate about women health, let’s explore some of the reasons as to why you might be experiencing Vaginal Dryness and Recurrent UTIs that seems impossible to treat 🥹.

1. Poor Dietary Practices: A diet high in processed foods like sodas, cakes, breads, and burgers can introduce yeast into the urinary tract. Persistent UTIs often require cutting down on these foods because sugars feed harmful bacteria, leading to an overgrowth that disrupts your vaginal flora. This imbalance can result in a loss of moisture, altered pH levels, decreased lubrication, and increased susceptibility to infections.
2. Lack of Physical Exercise: Regular exercise is essential for overall health, but it also helps remove toxins from the body and strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, which can prevent your vagina from becoming loose. A sedentary lifestyle, on the other hand, can lead to poor circulation and stagnation, making you more prone to infections and reduced sexual satisfaction.
3. Rough Sex: While sexual activity is natural and healthy, rough sex can cause tears in the vaginal walls, increasing the risk of infections and contributing to dryness. It’s important to ensure that your sexual experiences are gentle and pleasurable, prioritizing comfort to maintain vaginal health.
4. Partner Infidelity: If your partner is unfaithful, they might bring bacteria and yeast from outside encounters, increasing your risk of infections. Open communication and mutual respect in your relationship are vital to prevent these issues.
5. Poor Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining vaginal moisture. Dehydration can lead to dryness and discomfort, making sexual activity less enjoyable.
6. Poor Hygiene Practices: Improper cleaning, using harsh soaps, or douching can disrupt the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina, leading to infections. It’s important to follow gentle hygiene practices to keep your vaginal environment healthy.
7. High Stress Levels: Chronic stress can weaken your immune system, making you more susceptible to infections. It can also contribute to hormonal imbalances that affect vaginal health.
8. Low Intake of Prebiotics & Probiotics: As mentioned earlier, probiotics play a significant role in maintaining a healthy vaginal flora. A diet lacking in these beneficial bacteria can lead to an imbalance, resulting in recurrent infections.
9. Lack of Proper Sleep: Sleep is essential for overall health, including vaginal health. Poor sleep can disrupt hormone levels, weaken the immune system, and make you more prone to infections and dryness.
10. Lack of Enough Sex: Regular sexual activity promotes blood flow to the pelvic region, supporting vaginal health. However, too little sex can contribute to dryness and discomfort.
11. Douching and use of Harsh products. The internal areas of the vagina self cleans. Use of unprescribed things like ‘tightening sticks, soaps or stones/ Vaginal washes and even soaps, rip off the moisture in the walls predisposing us to Dryness and infections. The vulva is supposed to be cleaned well with water and gentle soap 🧼 to avoid accumulation of harmful bacteria from the friction.
