Let’s break it down.
✔️When you’re constantly eating — especially refined carbs, sugary snacks, and processed foods — your body spends most of its time digesting, not detoxing.
⏩But when you fast, say for 14 to 16 hours (even overnight!), your body finally gets the downtime it needs to:
1️⃣Activate autophagy — a natural cellular “clean-up” process where your body breaks down damaged cells and recycles what it can
2️⃣Lower insulin levels — helping your body switch from fat-storing to fat-burning mode, which includes burning stored toxins in fat tissues
3️⃣Reduce inflammation — allowing your detox organs like the liver, kidneys, and gut to function more efficiently
4️⃣Support gut health — fasting gives your digestive system time to rest and reset, reducing bloating and allowing for better waste elimination
Think of it this way:
