It’s the first day of the year and I can’t help but wonder about the year that was. Like the majority of you, I usually take this time ( the first week of the year to reflect on my previous goals, what I achieved, what I missed and most importantly what I can improve in the new year. This moment is bittersweet—a time to celebrate wins, process challenges, and prepare for the next chapter. For me, 2024 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster: a year filled with excitement, fear, pain, love, and most importantly, gratitude.

Looking back, I’ve experienced a spectrum of emotions. Anxiety and worry were my constant companions at times, especially when dealing with things I couldn’t control. Yet, through the highs and lows, I leaned on habits that helped me stay grounded and prioritized my well-being.

What Kept Me Grounded in 2024

Here are some of the simple but transformative practices that made all the difference this year:

  1. Meditation & Reflection
    In the chaos of everyday life, meditation became my refuge. It allowed me to pause, breathe, and reflect on what truly mattered. Reflection gave me clarity, especially during overwhelming moments.
  2. Home Workouts
    Movement has always been my therapy, and home workouts became a cornerstone of my routine. As I look forward to 2025, I’m excited to challenge myself further with gym workouts—stepping out of my comfort zone.
  3. Prioritizing Sleep
    Sleep isn’t just rest; it’s rejuvenation. Prioritizing a good night’s rest became non-negotiable, fueling both my creativity and my productivity.
  4. Mindful Eating Practices
    Food became more than just sustenance—it became nourishment. Practicing mindfulness while eating helped me strengthen my connection with my body and mind.
  5. Staying Hydrated
    Hydration is often overlooked, but it’s one of the simplest ways I nurtured my health this year.

Tackling Procrastination: My Biggest Goal of 2024

One of my most significant personal goals was to stop procrastinating. I’m proud to say I made tangible progress—around 70% of where I wanted to be. Overcoming procrastination wasn’t about perfection but about redefining how I approached tasks.

Here’s what worked for me:

  • I stopped over-planning and gave myself permission to start imperfectly.
  • I broke down big, intimidating tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This eliminated the fear that often paralyzed me.
  • I celebrated small wins along the way, which kept me motivated.

While I didn’t achieve everything I envisioned, the progress I made was empowering.

Slowing Down to Strategize

2024, my content creation took a back seat. Life was incredibly busy, and I couldn’t do it all. But instead of beating myself up, I chose to embrace the season I was in. I’m thankful for the clarity and purpose that kept me going, and I’m entering 2025 with a renewed strategy to balance my passions and responsibilities.

Lessons to Take Into 2025

As we transition into a new year, it’s important to reflect on the lessons we’ve learned. For me, 2024 was a reminder that:

  • Life is about progress, not perfection.
  • It’s okay to slow down and recalibrate when needed.
  • Consistency, even in small habits, is transformative.

I also want to ask you:
